Sensor faucets, or as many people call them, âautomatic faucets,â are devices that make washing hands convenient, clean, and reduce contact. However, sometimes there are problems that make it inconvenient to use, such as no water flow, weak water flow, or continuous flow.
This article will introduce you to common causes, along with basic solutions that you can easily check yourself before calling a technician.
â Problem 1: The sensor faucet doesn't work at all.
Possible causes:
No power (battery dead or adapter disconnected)
The sensor is broken or there is dirt blocking it.
The power cord is disconnected or broken.
â How to check and fix:
Check the batteries (if it is a battery-powered model) or check the plug or power cord of the power supply.
Use a cloth to clean the sensor surface (sometimes dust or water droplets can interfere).
Tighten the power cord or check for mouse bite marks.
â Problem 2: The faucet has a weak flow / the water flows slowly.
Possible causes:
Insufficient water pressure
There is scale or debris clogging the faucet or filter.
Clogged filter or control valve
â How to check and fix:
Compare the water pressure from other faucets in the same area.
Remove the faucet head for cleaning (in the case of a detachable model).
Remove the filter or water filter inside the Control Box to clean out any debris.
â Problem 3: Water doesn't stop flowing / flows by itself without your hands.
Possible causes:
The sensor is stuck or malfunctioning.
Objects are always near the sensor (e.g. towels, plastic bags)
The control box has a problem.
â How to check and fix:
Try pulling the power jack on the sensor connected to the Control Box and plug it back in (reset the system).
Clean the sensor surface and check for scratches on the sensor surface.
If it still doesn't stop, you may need to replace the sensor or control box.
ðĄ Tips for maintaining your sensor faucet so it lasts longer
Check the battery or electrical system every 3â6 months.
Wipe the sensor surface with a soft cloth once a month or more frequently.
Install in dry or dehumidified areas to reduce corrosion.
Do not use a hard cloth or a cloth soaked in strong liquid to wipe the sensor surface.
𧰠Conclusion: Most problems can be âsolvedâ if you know how.
Most sensor faucet problems are caused by minor issues such as dead batteries, dirt, or low water pressure.
Try checking using this basic method before calling a technician, because sometimes you can âfix it yourself in 5 minutesâ.
